Beautiful beaches and crystal-clear, turquoise water.

The main spot and best spot on the island is near Paje. Snow-white sand makes the water here shimmer in indescribable colours. Zanzibar is strongly tidal dependent. Depending on the moon phase the tide can be as high as 4m. At full and new moon the water at high tide leaves only a narrow stretch of beach to launch and land whereas at low tide you have to walk up to 300m until you reach the always rideable big lagoon. But it’s definitely worth it.
