Due to the steady and reliable Maloja winds, Silvaplana is one of the best kitesurfing spots in Switzerland. Nowhere else can you kite over a deep blue mountain lake surrounded by the majestic mountain panorama at almost 1800 meters above sea level. During the winter you can snowkite on the frozen lake which is another epic experience. The wind statistics may not look great but many days you can add up to 1 Beaufort due to thermal support and the Venturi effect.
